Grand Theft Auto V, set to release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, is unarguably one of the most anticipated releases of 2012. With PS3 and Vita integration playing an active role in the success of Sony’s latest mobile gaming device, the idea of taking advantage of the technology that exists through the PlayStation platform is breathtaking. Due to PlayStation’s exclusivity with the GTA franchise no longer in existence, Sony has lost a valuable asset to the PlayStation platform, but even with exclusivity no longer in effect, if the right moves are made, PlayStation just may reclaim its crown for the go-to platform for Grand Theft Auto as it once was before the current console generation.
If Sony and Rockstar Games were to collaborate on a Grand Theft Auto release for the PlayStation Vita, if they are not already, integrating the ability to communicate with Grand Theft Auto V on the PlayStation 3 utilizing the Vita’s GPS, ability to perform augmented reality, and the social networking provided by Vita’s Near application, the experience would be nothing short of groundbreaking. While Microsoft may have Grand Theft Auto V on their platform, if Sony is able to follow through and provide gamers with a revolutionary experience that is only available on the PlayStation platforms, gamers may find themselves opting in for the PlayStation 3 version allowing PlayStation to reclaim the Grand Theft Auto crown.
Watch as I provide more details on the potential PS3 and Vita integration could have with the Grand Theft Auto franchise and PLEASE leave a comment with your thoughts and ideas as I WILL be passing this link along to the team at Rockstar Games in the near future. The more comments and feedback provide, the more lilely we are to see this all come to fruition so spread the word and let’s make this vision a reality!
