Giant Bomb co-founder Ryan Davis passes away at the age of thirty-four, Rockstar Games releases first gameplay trailer of Grand Theft Auto V, The Last of Us generates impressive sales numbers, and PS4 and Xbox One preorders quickly sell out.
It felt like the GameKraft Class of 2009 reunion as we had all of the four staff members that made up GameKraft back in June of that year. Our good friend and GameKast guest Quinn joined us for the rather special gathering. The game industry recently mourned for the loss of one of its most beloved personalities, Giant Bomb co-founder Ryan Davis. Ryan Davis was a massive influence for Bronson and Aaron, helping setting them off on their gaming journalism paths. They reflected on what made Ryan Davis so well-loved, and how they reacted upon hearing the tragic news. Rockstar has officially displayed that Grand Theft Auto V is indeed a game with the release of the first gameplay trailer. The released date couldn’t be here soon enough. The Last of Us sales for its first month easily sailed past three million, incredibly impressive as it is a new IP, and is a survival horror game. Just over a month after E3, it’s now going to be very difficult to find next-gen consoles this holiday season as preorders for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are sold out across multiple retailers.
