Call of Duty and Halo Teams Join for Next Industry Shattering Franchise? – Unscripted Access Episode #9

Unscripted Access Episode #9

Details on Activision’s acquisition of Bungie evolve, more evidence of a first-person shooter from Sony Santa Monica emerges, Call of Duty Vita to possibly make its debut during E3 2012, and more gaming news and nonsense that listeners have come to expect with Unscripted Access.

When news broke out that Bungie would be teaming up with Activision as a developer of a whole new video game franchise, gamers began salivating as speculation erupted. With two of the industry’s most successful video game franchises of all time under each company, Halo and Call of Duty, the thought of both powerhouses joining forces justifies the excitement created. While no details were provided when this alliance was announced, recently details have emerged and us here at The Gamer Access provide our full-indepth look based on the information released and provide our opinions on what is planned.

With E3 2012 just over a week away, there is no debating that Sony has a lot to prove this year with both their PlayStation 3 and Vita platforms. Sony’s Santa Monica studios, the same team behind God of War, has released more job listings all but confirming their first-person shooter in the works. Understanding Sony Santa Monica’s track record, chances are high that whatever they do decide to develop will offer an incredible experience, but concerns still remain. Listen as we explain the opportunity and what could possibly hold Sony back with this opportunity.

There is much more covered this week on Unscripted Access, but we will leave it to your ears to find out the rest. As always we wrap up the show answering the various questions received last week from our dedicated audience who enjoyed. Unscripted Access commence!

God what I would do to attend E3 (bubble forms out of head). This year looks to be intense and look forward to seeing the coverage TGA provides.

It would be interesting to see a FPS from santa monica. I remember the initial rumors of a God of War FPS and I was praying they did not go that route as it sounded like an epic disaster, but a whole new franchise would be GREAT!

If you guys could have any developing studio develop any genre or style of game, which studio would it be and which genre/style and why?

The game would be great if it was developed solely by Bungie, but adding IW/Sledgehammer into the mix would only give us FAILURE!

Hello to the staff and followers of The Gamer Access. I would first like to state that what I am about to say is in no way mean to offend or downplay anyone, as you guys stated yourselves within the podcast to speak our minds regardless of whatever it may be.

Now that that's out of the way, I have been following for almost three years now and have seen Nick during his best and worst times. I remember when he was doing everything by himself for months and despite the heavy load fought through it and NEVER complained. I have been listening to Unscripted Access since the very first episode and while I really enjoy the show, some of the responses you have provided to questions concern me. I am not remembering what episode it was but someone was coming at you guys in a negative manner, which is not what I am seeking to do, and Britney along with Bronson brought up the fact that "well, we are not getting paid....imagine if we were getting paid", well I have news for you, neither is Nick and do you ever see him use that as an excuse. Sure, he has expressed his desire to make this his career, but he doesn't use it as an excuse.

Also, I am a bit confused as to why Ashton thinks he is the moderator of the show (unless he was assigned that role) and whenever you guys go off topic for just a brief moment he steps in with his smart ass comments acting like he runs things, once again news to you all, Nick has built everything this site is and while you guys are contributing great content, its establishment was built by Nick.

I am not saying you guys need to bow down and worship him or anything, but pretending to be in his position is absurd if you ask me. As far as Anthony and Danielle, I think you both contribute solid conversation and have yet to hear one of you complain so I welcome that and appreciate your hard work. Bronson, you also contribute a lot of valuable discussion, just don't feel the excuses are worthy with the same conditions in Nick's hands not impacting him.

Also, in regards to Bronson's statement of getting all the "bitches" Nick has the vibe, the attitude, and visual appeal to do so. How many guys out there do you know that have integrated women within this industry not solely on looks, but for their knowledge on video games as well? Just imagine if he had the resources to do everything he wanted to, he would be able to separate the real female gamers from the fakes all while maintaining a professional manner. Not many men can accomplish this, let alone within the gaming industry.

Not going to rant any longer and as I said, please do not take offense to this, it's just something that was cooking in my mind for the past weeks that I feel needed to be aired out. Please continue the show and I look forward to seeing what is captured at E3!

Really Nick? You are not rich? Didn't Bronson expose that you fly a lot? That costs money, you have admitted to only staying at the top of the line hotels, you drive a damn new body styled mustang, you even put a $ in McFRE$H, and you say that you don't have money? You are wealthy as hell and if you are making a living off stocks, you obviously have the money to invest to make money off of. Hate to come across negatively as I love your work, but please dont lie about your wealthy financial state.

Cannot wait for the pre-e3 show!!! I am hoping they show Call of Duty on Vita and it isn't a disappointment as I agree that it could be the reviving source for the Vita! A couple E3-related questions I have:

For Nick, as the only one from TGA has been to E3, what is your favorite part of the E3 experience?

What game are you all looking forward to the most during E3?

Hope I am not late, just saw Nick's tweet but as always great show and a few questions to help extend the length hahahaha

If you could only attend one press conference which would it be and why?

Which company do you expect to shock us all?

Do you expect any price cuts for any of the platforms?

Nick, what is your most anticipated E3 party?
