TGA GameKraft GameKast Episode 106: Blocking Ruins Boss Fight!

TGA GameKraft GameKast

The guest for this week’s show is our new friend, Alexander Banks. In addition to video games, computers, and cars, he is an avid comic book fan. Bronson and Alex had quite a discussion on DC comics. With my getting back into League of Legends, the game has restored some faith for a friendly online community. This led us to discuss about games where the online contains a lot of elitist jerks. Turns out in team games, having a decent leader greatly improves the chances of winning (who knew!?). We discussed whether monetizing podcasts is an okay thing to do, and we answer questions and comments from a fan from Bronson’s PSN inbox.

TGA GameKraft GameKast Episode 105: Grammatically Bewildering

TGA GameKraft GameKast

Kevin Fredericks from the Reno Video Game Symphony joined us again for this episode! Bronson liked a lot of “indie” games lately, and Thomas Was Alone was the latest. Bronson and I somewhat reflected on impossible boss fights. We also reflected on the hatred that festered during our Game of the Year debates. Video game covers tend to look the same, and found that over a third of Bronson’s PS3 games collection had a similar theme of cover. Finally, we noticed that the recent Legend of Zelda games have not been the revolutionary stunners like the famous Zelda games in the 90's.

The GameKast crew will be having a gaming expo panel! It will take place during Reno GAME Expo, June 1, at the Silver Legacy Hotel Casino. Our time is currently set for 11am. Looking forward to seeing some listeners there!

TGA GameKraft GameKast Episode 104: Watch Sports with Halo HUD

TGA GameKraft GameKast

We had just wrapped up our Rock Band 3 session starting this episode, so we reflected on the mess we had to deal with to set everything up. Plasma TVs still exist, and may still have some benefits. Thomas Was Alone had quite of likable character, and proved to be another great “indie” title. Xbox 360 apparently has a new deadly app involving pizza.

TGA GameKraft GameKast Episode 103: Our Generation Music Trends

TGA GameKraft GameKast

We were in a middle of a life topic when we started this episode, so we picked up where we left off. The music that our generation grew up with was interesting, to say the least. How much of a “wow” factor can cutting-edge graphics muster today? We debated to find out. Our news was somewhat filled, with NPD sales numbers for March 13, and Nintendo Direct.

TGA GameKraft GameKast Episode 102: Be Broke With Games

TGA GameKraft GameKast

The last piece of Rock Band DLC came out the last couple of weeks. It is certainly one of the defining things for the teenage years of Bronson, and the gaming generation. Gaming back in those days with plastic instruments was quite expensive. Gaming today for the avid enthusiast is more expensive than some may think, as we were in for a little surprise at how much we possibly spent the last year.

TGA GameKraft GameKast Episode 101: Passive-Aggressive with Civ V

TGA GameKraft GameKast

This episode is the start of season three of the GameKast! We were joined by a very special guest from our local gaming community. Meet Kevin Fredericks. He is the director, guitarist, and violist at the Reno Video Game Symphony. Our good friend Thomas also joined us. Gaming events have been popping up quite a bit in our city lately, and the biggest upcoming one is GAME Expo (game, art, music, entertainment). The GameKast group is going to be there so we are quite excited.

Civilization V may have some boring stretches but still proved difficult to not play for a few hours at a time. BioShock Infinite has an ending that rivals The Walking Dead from last year; Bronson really likes the game. The PlayStation Campus group recently visited our local university, so we told of our experiences. The news featured in this episode was unusually gloomy, with EA in the running again for “worst company in America”, Adam Orth comments, and more job losses in the game industry.

TGA GameKraft GameKast Episode 100: Take Quotes Out of Context

TGA GameKraft GameKast

Wow, we have reached our one hundredth episode! We would like to give many thanks to every listener out there who listen to our podcast. And we are serious when we say “Please send in any comments, questions, or suggestions.” In GameKast tradition, Bronson talked about his life at work, now at a much better job, and we got a good chuckle at Bronson’s recount of his former employer’s orientation session. We are currently planning a new show, and are prepping up for the massive arguments that will ensue. We like some new and old game consoles, so we picked our favorite ones based on aesthetics.

TGA GameKraft GameKast Episode 99: Bailey and Grunt, Buddy Cop Duo

TGA GameKraft GameKast

After one year, we still have not completely shut up about Mass Effect 3. We talked a lot about the game because of our second playthroughs and the incredible humor in the Citadel DLC. We also made up some insane and awesome scenarios for Mass Effect, as well as PlayStation-brand characters that could go into PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. PAX East 2013 occurred during the time of the recording of this episode, so there was plenty of news coming in.

TGA GameKraft GameKast Episode 98: We Got the Donner Party!

TGA GameKraft GameKast

Bronson and I talked about some of our college experiences. Bronson had been replaying Mass Effect 3, and I had gotten through the God of War trilogy and it is awesome. God of War: Ascension is not so awesome. Then it was time to talk more about life, pleasant cities, and an unpleasant city to live in. We covered some sales lists from February, and answered a gaming survey.

We are currently deciding on our next Super Mega Awesome Go Play Time game (our game playthrough show). If you have suggestions, please send it in. We would like the title to be generally well-acclaimed, and at least somewhat action-orientated. Thanks, listeners!

TGA GameKraft GameKast Episode 97: A Game, More Like a Graphic Novel

TGA GameKraft GameKast

Bronson has thoroughly enjoyed the new Tomb Raider, I like God of War 2 quite a lot, and Sakura Wars is actually a graphic novel with RPG elements. I spread the word on Zelda Reorchestrated’s Twilight Symphony music album, and Bronson has thought of a new show for TGA.
