PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720’s Visual Benchmarks to Inject GDC 2012 - Nick's Gaming View Episode #66

Nick's Gaming View Episode #66

PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720’s power to be shown during GDC 2012, Halo 4 prepares for its gameplay footage debut, the PlayStation Vita has been officially hacked, and more. Here we are just hours away from the largest annual gathering of professional video game developers, GDC, and as always, gamers can expect to hear several game announcements, see multiple tech demos, and more that cannot be predicted. With a strong focus on networking and learning more about video game development, GDC is one of the largest gaming events throughout the year and Epic Games is looking to make a splash by unveiling their latest engine, Unreal Engine 4.

Projected to run on the Wii U as well as the next PlayStation and Xbox, those able to attend the briefing Epic Games has planned during GDC are in for a real treat. Unfortunately, those who are unable to attend the briefing live onsite at GDC will likely not hear or see what is to be shown immediately, as I explain on the show, but seeing that developers are beginning to show off their next-generation video game engines , interesting discussions should begin evolving within the industry. If that is not enough to spark anticipation for GDC 2012, Microsoft is set to show off four Xbox 360 exclusives set to launch later this year including Halo 4. In fact, rather than showing a teaser trailer as was shown during Microsoft’s E3 2011 press conference, gameplay footage from the singleplayer and multiplayer portions of the title is be expected.

To wrap it all up, PlayStation Vita’s official early sales figures have been unveiled along with the performance of its software titles. I discuss the sales numbers revealed and whether or not I feel it lives up to its expectations. To go along with the sales figures for PlayStation Vita, as was accomplished with the PSP, the PlayStation Vita has been officially hacked allowing for Vita users to load homebrew onto their handheld device and take part in experiences that were not originally intended for the device. As always, Nick’s Gaming View Episode #66 is filled with a schedule no gamer should miss out on, as who wants to be the uninformed gamer on the net? Make sure that is not you by watching the show. This is Nick’s Gaming View!

  • Unfortunately, I will be working during the day, but I will definitely be glued to my phone as I will be following what all is going on during GDC. I am going to go on a limb here and say that we may hear about a few unannounced Vita titles!

To answer your question, as long as Sony was smart when developing the format for their games in both retails stores and on the PSN store, I feel it will be fine since pirating won't take place, if pirating does begin, I am going to be pissed because we all saw what happened with the PSP like you said.

There is a reason why the Vita ended up in Last Place in the first week sales and there is a reason why the PS3 is in last place. Sony and PlayStation are dying brands that are losing popularity real fast because of their consumer unfriendly shenanigans.
The sales number will dwindle real fast and the PS4 will tank hard because of another already confirmed architecture and thus ditching backwards compatibility.
Sony and PlayStation are for all intents and purposes NOT future proof and thus DEAD!

  • How's it going Chris?

Whenever I hear or discover anything about the next generation of console gaming I will be sure to publish what I know here on TheGamerAccess.com to keep the audience informed and aware.

I was unable to attend GDC this year, definitely going next year, so I will not have any coverage of the event, but we will be at PAX East next month so stay tuned ;-)
