Naughty Dog’s PlayStation 4 reveal ramping up, Nintendo’s Wii U hacked developing software piracy, and Sony confirms date and time of E3 2013 press conference, THIS IS NICK’S GAMING VIEW!
Hello everyone and welcome to Nick’s Gaming View, you are here with your host, Nick McCandless. Shortly after discovering the mysterious October 17th, 2013 date within The Last of Us, Naughty Dog has posted 21 open jobs seeking new employees who can take on the role of being a character artist, web designer, programmer, senior sound designer, and more. While the job listings don’t reveal much information regarding the projects set to be worked on, considering the PlayStation 4’s launch later this year, I feel its safe to say that the soon to be released The Last of Us will be the last blockbuster title we see from the team until their debut on the PlayStation 4.
With the Wii U key breaking Wii U’s security recently released, Nintendo released a statement acknowledging of the compromise and that necessary legal steps would be taken to prevent illegal activity. While Nintendo is working on such case, the hackers aren’t wasting time as they have successfully opened up piracy on the console with the first available illegal offering of The Avengers: Battle for Earth weighing in at 23GBs. Whether Nintendo will be able to bring such actions to a halt in a timely manner has yet to be seen, but understanding the hacking community, nothing will stop them from following through on their ambition.
Wrapping up Nick’s Gaming View, Sony has confirmed that on June 10th at 6PM PST/9PM EST, PlayStation will host their annual E3 press conference set to deliver a plethora of surprises to the world of gaming. We will have to wait until June 10th to see what Sony has in store, but as I’m sure everyone expects, the PlayStation 4 will be the highlight of the show with an attempt to rebirth the Vita in place and small percentage of PS3 unveilings to prove their continued support for the platform.
