Bronson’s Soapbox Episode 63: Nintendo as a 3rd Party Developer

Bronson’s Soapbox Episode 63

Nintendo has a hard time selling video game consoles, but they have some of the best development studios in the entire video game industry. Maybe they should be a 3rd party developer to improve their financial situation?

nintendo was my childhood, but i have to agree with you. i would hate for them to eventually go bust. as a 3rd party developer they could do sooo well. surprised its not something they havnt done this already. pride maybe but its a good idea for them.

My first console was a NES, and I too have had all the Nintendo consoles, except the Wii U. In fact, the only console we have now is an older Wii. And to add to the Nintendo fangirl in me, I have a Mario and Yoshi tattoo (from Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door). So, love Nintendo. That said… Nintendo doesn’t seem to be doing so well these days. Going to a 3rd party dev platform could help save them. I’d love to get a different console if I could also play my beloved Nintendo games on there.

nintendo is a classic gaming company sure, but maybe it is time for them to past the torch? your idea is good and personally i think they should do that and maybe not even do anything hardware related anymore. the wii was okay and the wii u sucked. the last good console by them was the gamecube and the ds. stop making consoles and just make games and let other consols/pc play nintendo classic series.
