SOCOM DLC Priced, Detailed

So I'm a socom freak from the PS2 days. Because of that game, I didn't play anything else for about two years, so it pains me to say that SOCOM: Confrontation killed the franchise.

I'm sure that many people disagree and didn't mind the failed launch and the constant flow of bugs that followed. Now comes good news for those still scouring the SOCOM servers.

The DLC will cost $14.99. Too much? Well you can get it for $9.99 if you purchase it within the first 24 hours of its release. So when is it coming out? No clue. The official announcement doesn't list the release date you'll need to know if you want to save $5. Because, you know, why would it?

Expect that very important piece of information later, once Slant Six patches the press release. Below, though, you'll find everything planned for the DLC.

Here is what will be available in the pack, according to the game's official website.

All told, this pack will have:

- New Russian / Eastern European Area of Operation
- Snow setting complete with snow effects, new snow gear and camo for both the Special Forces and Mercenaries, and thermal vision
- New ARMS RUN gameplay mode
- 5 New Maps o Uprising
o Entrapment
o Blizzard
o Night Stalker
o Vigilance
- All new mercenaries characters with new looks and new VO.
- New Special Forces squad, the Russian Spetsnaz
- Gun turret emplacements
- New music
- All new character specialization/progression system
o Allows players to pick a primary and secondary specialization and unlock new equipment exclusive to those specializations
- New weapons, including:
o 3 new weapons
o 6 enhanced versions of weapons available as part of the new weapons specialization system
o 2 new weapon attachments (including the thermal scope)
o 5 enhanced versions of weapon attachments also available as part of the new weapons specialization system.
o 2 new grenade launcher ammo types (flash and smoke)
