Sony announced earlier today that they have plans to release PS3 firmware update 3.41 by the end of July (this month). Firmware 3.41 is nothing substantial but improves the PlayStation Store experience by bringing an all new "You May Like" section. When you are the details page of a specific piece of content on the PlayStation Store, you will also be greeted with this new section which will highlight similar pieces of content based on the purchases of PSN users. The image for this post shows how this new setup will look.
UPDATE: PS3 firmware 3.41 is now LIVE

What PS2 games do you play?
I can understand the BC feature when the PS3 first came out, since there were few good games. But now the PS3 catalog of awesome games is nearly unlimited. I don't get the desire to go back and play horrible looking PS2 (480i) games on an HDTV with your PS3.
Can you help me understand?
@Gameoverodin
You have to remember the main reason why the XBOX 360 will NEVER have a web browser. It is not because they cannot add one, they can. It is comes down to 2 reasons:
1. Adding a browser means opening up the possibility of attack/virus/malicious code, etc.
2. Politics within Microsoft will NOT allow them to use any other browser besides IE.
I have no doubt that those within the Microsoft XBOX 360 division would love to add a specially adapted version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. And doing that would certainly cut down on #1 above. But that would annoy other divisions within Microsoft and make it appear as if they did not have confidence in their own browser. Politics within companies make for some idiot decisions that, on the surface at least, make zero sense. Nonetheless, it happens every day in Corporate America.
So if you are Don Mattrick and the only browser you know you could use (and still keep your job) is IE, you will wisely decide not to include a browser at all, rather than invite all that grief and trouble. Instead, you could add specific access to popular websites (i.e. Facebook and Twitter). Thereby controlling the access and exposure to the 360 OS.
OMG! I have literally laid awake at nights waiting for this new feature. And finally, here it is. I can now go into the PSN Store and be told about other useless and boring games that I might want to waste my precious money on. That used to worry me before. You know, the not knowing where to spend my money part. But now, Sony for the Win, I can be prompted with popup suggestions at every turn telling me where to spent the remaining dollars in my PSN wallet.
This Eric Lempel guy at the PSN seems to have this magical ability to know what new minor and minuscule features that we gamers really want. How does he do it?!?! There was the added "sparkles" new feature for the bland Playstation background that got added a while back. I was so hoping for that one. And Sony delivered it! And that Photo application that they added way back, really hit the nail on the head for me as a gamer, you know. I mean right after pwning noobs in MW2 or KZ2, you just want to view some family photos of your high school reunion, right? Right! And thanks to Sony, we can do that.
[sarcasm=OFF]
WTF!!!! How about adding a reputation system. Or a reporting system. What about allowing me the ability to send or leave someone a quick voice message, instead of struggling with the wonder chatpad or controller?!?! Cross-game chat would be nice too. Background downloads too.
Sony just doesn't get it when it comes to the online. I know, they got off to a weak start and I bought that excuse for the first 2 years, starting wondering in the 3rd year and now as the 4th year comes to a close .... WTF? More than enough time to bring those features to the table.
The sad reality is that we won't see any of that until the PS4. When they get another chance at the OS without worrying about grandfathering in games that were written before the core OS feature set.
I'm rather suprised that's all the update consists of
normally I'd be optimistic even about such an insignificant function I'll never necessarily utilize. But this just isn't important to me. I'm constantly on top of all the game releases in the industry and I don't think this will be helpful at all. I almost feel bad for sounding like such an ass when I said that, haha.
