After a long day of handling business, I decided I would power on my PlayStation 3 and enjoy some gaming, but before I decided to hop in for a game of Madden, I happened to encounter something interesting. Just to see if there was anything new that I missed, I had my PlayStation 3 check for the latest firmware update and I was surprised with a message stating that PS3 Firmware Update 3.73 was available. Read more for what I believe this update may entail and my challenge for the PlayStation community.
UPDATE: The following was tweeted from the official PlayStation Twitter account in regards to this update: "A new, non-mandatory PS3 firmware update, v3.73, is now available. Stability during use of certain PS3 format software has been improved."
Without any announcement from Sony themselves, it's hard to say what exactly this update brings, but with the recent news of PSN users being hacked once again, could this be a simple patch to protect PSN users further? Going off the incremental number increase with the update, I would not expect anything monumental from this update, but it is interesting to see a new PS3 firmware update with no official word from Sony.
Are you curious to know what this update includes? Why not power your PS3 on now, update your console, and then see if you can find anything! If you do find something, please let me know in the comments section and I will be sure to update this post with your findings with proper credit given!
