Digital Extremes, developing studio involved with Unreal Tournament, Bioshock, Homefront, and many other blockbuster titles this console generation, announced today that the writer of God of War, Marianne Krawczyk, will be collaborating with a team consisting of not only Digital Extremes, but Namco Bandai and Paramount Pictures to script the upcoming co-op action game Star Trek with launch set before the next film during May of 2013. Star Trek’s original story will not only feature the work of the successful Marianne Krawczyk, but Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, producers and writers of the upcoming Star Trek film.
LeeAnne Stables, Executive Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Partnerships for Paramount Pictures and head of the studio?s videogame department, commented on the announcement by stating:
“With our Namco Bandai partners leading the distribution effort, we are confident that we will meet an overwhelming demand to get this exciting console experience into the hands of gamers and Star Trek fans worldwide”
With such a team featuring all-stars throughout the film industry, I have laid my faith in the upcoming release of Star Trek on videogame consoles. As one who typically does not fall for the movie-game creations, understanding the teams and people involved in such a project, I must admit my attention has been grabbed and I will be sure to stay tuned in to any information released in regards to the title.
