Yeah, you heard me. Dragon Age is now a movie and I’m hoping it’s as awesome as it sounds. The CG anime film is based on BioWare and Electronic Arts’s fantasy game franchise, Dragon Age. First things first, read more to learn what I know about the plot:
In a land where battles are fought with swords and magic, a young heroine rises to glory as Templars, mages, and dragons clash. Cassandra Pentaghast, a brash and beautiful warrior from a long line of dragon slayers, must stop a conspiracy that threatens the realm’s most powerful religious order. Accused of treasonous crimes and hunted by friend and foe, Cassandra must clear her name and overcome her rage in order to save the day and take her place in legend.
Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker is a prologue to the Dragon Age II game. Providing a unique feel with CG anime film is supposed thicken the plot of the Dragon Age story by telling the origins of the Seekers. If you aren’t a fan and knowledgeable of the story you may not want to watch this film. The plot of the movie very closely follows the facts of the series and may have the general audience, well, generally confused. Otherwise, being a fan myself, Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker seems to hold the promise of being entertaining with it’s action sequences and curiosity-satiating with the information it will provide about the games. Definitely a “must-see” if you plan to follow the Dragon Age series in the future. Available on DVD and Blu-ray May 29th, 2012.
