There’s been a lot of fuss lately over this PS3 2.70 update. Now a lot of people are beginning to get disappointed over what 2.70 is supposed to be like, stating that it doesn’t have the features they wanted. I think it’s time to address a very common aspect of the online gaming media.
IncGamers recently reported that a UK Sony rep stated: “We haven’t announced a new firmware, therefore this is speculation and we don’t comment on speculation.”
Now I left that as its own little paragraph for a reason. How can someone complain that 2.70 is a disappointment WHEN IT HASN’T EVEN RECEIVED AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT? None of us know for sure what features it will or won’t have, or even when it’s going to be released for that matter.
When 2.70 was announced earlier today, it was a disappointment to many. Why is this? Well there’s so many expectations being thrown around and considered fact, that is has a ton of things to live up to.
Now I love gaming and gaming journalism, don’t get me wrong, but at times like these, the negative side rears its ugly head. People need to start separating fact from fantasy, and soon.
