Well I guess I am having the same problem as the Playstation Network Community. I figured I would log on and play some Socom about twenty five minutes ago. Well I guess that isn't going to be happening now is it? I did some research on error codes and this 8001050F code is not on the list. I hope Sony can resolve this problem soon or I will have to give them squirrel aids. I mean come on we all paid a ridiculous amount for this system. I think we expect the best of what we paid for. Well I hope they fix this error soon.

my ps3 has never been connected to the internet....except for updates. and i still have this problem.....playing Dante's inferno, was working great. i shut it off, came back a few hrs later and i got the 8001050f error, but never played DI online, or even had the network enabled the entire time i have had DI, i have a Phat Ps3

Changing the date didn't work for me either, tried playing offline and I still get an error code, played on a fresh account with no internet access and still got the error code... First Microsoft buys the rights to FF13 and pays to have ps3 compies made in 3 CD sets with missing video fotage because thier shitty systems can't handle it and now Sony's free network is falling apart fast... I'm gonna go read a book or race some noobs between redlights, this better be fixed before I get another speeding ticket, I miss my MW2!! Ive been trying since half 3 to fix this its now half 5, i was on earlier this evening no problem, i've restored system, even done the double bleep and restored files, came up with click X to correct corrupted files, thought this was actually working but no :| now every time i try to sign in all it does is shows me same error and asks me change my internet connection settings?!?!?! they work fine as you can see, this happened in february you would have thought from that time they would know how to fix the problem!? anyone got a solution yet?

oh and also all slimlines seem to be working fine, my bf is on his and signed in straight away

i just tried ringing playstation support number and the message on there was psn network is currently unavailable , please try conecting again later.

try this:
1. sign out of the PSN, go to sign back in and uncheck the automatic signin box, close out (don't sign in)
2. turn off your ps3's network interface card (located under network settings > internet connection > disable)
3. play games offline until the patch is issued

Although if you play a game made in late 08 and 09 it still works. Fifa 09 worked for me. and so did Rachet and Clank ToD

Any disc game you try to play (successful or not ...inFamous works), it deletes all of the trophy data on your system.

If you look at your purchased games Information on your system, there is no Owner or any other pertinent information anymore. This is why when you play them, they are the demo version.

Something is seriously wrong and I hope it can be remedied.

I've been playing Need for Speed Shift on PS3 60Gb tonight. On a hunch I tried Fight Night Round 4 and Mirrors Edge and those worked as well. But Dead Space did not work. Makes sense since they run alot of their own servers. I'm looking titles that don't have trophy support now.

I heard you can fix this by going [settings] [system settings] [restore PS3 system]. If you noticed in the video the tim e and date went back to 1/1 @ 7:50 am. If it's like my PS3 than the year went back to 2000. On other forums people are saying that there is a virus in the playstation network.

recieved uncharted 2 in the mail, never played it before
so I disconnected from the tinterweb and gave it ago.
It started no probs and played with out any error code,
out of interest I pressed the ps button to look at the
uncharted trophies, but none were showing on my hub and
I hadn't recieved any while playing. I also noticed that my neon
theme and screen saver at reverted back to the original theme, but
as soon as I ejected the disc it immediatly return to my own

From what I've heard it's a firmware problem on the 60Gs. Seems like a millenium bug of sorts, the console miscalculated leap years and went retard on us. Now it thinks it's 1999 and so anything that works on dates is screwed: online, trophys, DLC, etc etc.
I'm no expert but something like this shouldn't be too hard to fix, and it'll be at least a week before I start to consider giving up on The Last Guardian to play Mass Effect2.

My God people! A couple of days of not being able to play online with the PS3 and the world has suddenly ended! So there is a network issue, switch off your network cards (see above posts about this - there are lots!) and keep playing. I have yet to find a game I cannot play offline, I have not had any trophy issues (yet) and I didn't waste any money on fancy themes, so no issue there. But let me ask you all, have Sony said they will NOT be fixing this issue? Have they said they will not help those who have lost "paid for" items? I put a new HDD in my PS3 a few months back, but had no issues downloading the games I had bought online previously, onto the new drive. Lets get a grip here. It's a pain in the a$$, but at least we are not getting shafted by M$ just yet!!!

i just got my ps3 back from sony i had the red light of death and got a new one from them like three days ago if i have to send it back to them i will be pissed and they better do it for free

So, we have 2 ps3 in the house. The one is a phat 60 gb ps3 and the other one is a 120 gb ps3. Well the 60 gb ps3 has the network error with the time going back to 1999, cant play the games offline and all that jazz. The 120 gb gets online just perfectly, no problems can even play the accounts that was on 60 gb on the 120 gb. WTF is up with that. Sony get your shit together already!! I know its been several hours and the more time you waste not getting it fixed is less people you will having playing your consoles. Talk about a bad review for you guys right now! If this is the year bug and we have to send systems in, then by god you better be compensating everyone including the ones who do not have warranties on their systems. Is it just me or does it seem strange that this date/time error happened on the strangest of dates, 28/02/2010, did some idiot program the old 'fat' playstations into thinking that this is a leap year when it's clearly not? It has to be something with the date changing to 3-1-10. don't know why but i haven't been online with it for about 2 months and all the sudden the same shit is happening i tried system restore, a quick format, and same stuff going on. Just leave your PS3's alone for a few days, turn it off, and check on it now and then.. If you keep messing around with it and listen to these people who don't know what they are talking about by giving advice on how to fix it, your just going to make things worse! Just be patient and let Sony try to work the bugs out, this should not have happened in the first place, but there is no way to fix this on your own, so don't even try.. Do you really want to lose all of your data and saves just because you couldn't be patient?? Just turn your PS3 off and check it every few hours. Thats all we can do at this point!! He told me that it is definately a network issue. they added updates on sunday morning that the older ps3s couldnt connect to. he said that sony did in fact find what the problem is, and have been working on it since this morning. dont worry guys. this isnt something to go apeshit over. this isnt anything compared to the RRoD. that stuff will force you to send in your ps3. dont bother the representatives by calling about this glitch. all they will tell you is to send in your ps3. but for the reps that actually know what they are talking about will tell you to wait it out. itll be fixed within a few hours. just chill guys. look me up when this is all over with (Albert115

All of your important data (movies, game saves, PS one games, ect.) save to a flash-drive just incase for some reason your memory gets cleared out!! I know that I don't want to have to restart my virtual pro accomplishments from Fifa 10! That took me 3 months to complete, and if it got erased because of PS3 rebooting the system, I would go crazy! I'm just giving some advice that you can take or leave.. I don't know if you will lose data out of this or not, but just to be safe, don't take a chance! You just might never know what will happen, even if you have to recall your PS3, it won't hurt to have your data saved onto a flash-drive!!

i put in ong bak on bluray n got an error code then i put in ong bak 2 on blu ray n wile it was loading up it says theres an update available took bout 5 sec 2 dwnld now evrythng works again i guess tony jaa kicked that bug outta my ps3 !!!

If this has happened to you, manually set your date to 3/2/2010...I had this error code and it worked for me

we are back on as of 8:00 central time. march 1st. they say it was a problem with the internal clock set as internet provided, people that had theres set manually(like mine)(i own an fatty 80 gb) didnt have a problem with data loss or trophy corruption. . . Oh and you SHIT talking Xbox users are pathetic. you guys have no room to talk this is the only "real" problem sony has had. it isnt our fault you have 2 get it replaced every year
