Imagine a world with free arcade games, records and toys; and no this isn’t your cousins’ basement from the 80’s, this is Logan Hardware in Chicago. Read more for the details!
When you first walk in, you will see tons of used and rare vinyl records ranging from 80’s Punk to R&B Dusties and everything in between. They also have board games, piles of army guys, a bunch of used and new used DVDs (Voltron!), Mario Brothers candy and record players in case you didn’t have one before coming in here.
Now on to the main attraction, a dark room through two silver doors in the back of the establishment with flashing lights and deep drone of sounds that can only be one thing; a full scale vintage arcade museum!
The only light is from the blinking from the over 30 games and six pinball machines. The games are set to “Free Play” so you don’t need to come with a pile of quarters. There is one catch as it would be a good idea to buy something from the store either from the fine folks before or after playing the games, think of it as a “Suggested Donation” box at the museum.
In the past year they held a Donkey Kong Tournament, as well as special Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock special event concert so keep an eye out on their website for any upcoming events. Very rad place to bring friends or hang out by yourself and veg out to Millipede!
