Game Lobby #7

Here we have our seventh game lobby episode. We're talking about the Forza 3, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, and the Brutal Legends demo. We are also taking a look  at Wet and Halo 3: ODST.

Which demos are impressive? Which were underwhelming? Does ODST stand alone as a quality game? Oh, and laugh with us as I forget to unmute my headset during the Gaiden discussion. For those of you listening to the mp3, take that time to get a soda.

Need for Speed: Shift

According to VGChartz, the PS3 version of Need for Speed: Shift has outsold the 360 version the first week. Many people claim this could be due to the fact that the PS3 just received a new model with a $299 price and sales have been rocketing, but I feel there is something people are forgetting about. Xbox 360 Is the Gamers’ Choice

E-mail Print PDF

Two Xbox 360s

Xbox 360 is the gamers' choice. In the last few months, a lot of things have happened in the gaming world. The PlayStation 3 got a slim model and a price drop and the Xbox 360 also reconfigured their pricing structure to match that of the PS3. You can now get a 120gb Elite 360 or a 120gb Slim PS3 for $299. There are a ton of games coming out and the sales for both consoles spiked since the price drops were put into effect. Now Nintendo dropped the price of the Wii, in the United States, to $199 to keep up with the price drops that have been happening recently. Nintendo has dominated this generation with total sales and game sales, but many gamers consider the true race is between the PS3 and the 360. The 360 has held a firm lead of about 7 million consoles over the PS3, due in part to the one year head start and arguably a stronger lineup of games and online services. Although the PS3 has made some strides, it has yet to take away any shine from the 360. Each console has its benefits yet both are different in regards to their functions and abilities. Sony has worked hard to improve their online network and its features, but Microsoft has continued to stay a few steps ahead in that area.

PlayStation Home

Ever since Sony announced Home 1.3 would hit in September, fans of the service have been waiting anxiously for it to drop. Unfortunately, 1.3 is not going to hit today, but one of the Home Managers, CydoniaX, has provided us with an update.

"Hi Home Community,

I know you all have been waiting with baited breath for the 1.3 client upgrade and would like an update on its release. Our development team is still actively and diligently working on getting it through the final stages of QA and this has taken longer than previously anticipated. We still expect to release the new version in the very near future. We appreciate your continued patience and support.
