Let's Talk About MAG

E-mail Print PDF

MAG

MAG has been out for a month now. So Matt and I decided to talk about what the game can do to keep the party going past some of the big releases coming the rest of the year.

Both of us really like the game. But how can it stand the test of time? Read more to watch the video, then you tell us. The audio file is coming later

Warhawk On Sale For $14.99 On PSN Starting Today

E-mail Print PDF

Warhawk Box Art

Sony announced that starting today you can pick up the "Classic" PS3 game Warhawk for only $14.99 from the PSN store starting Thursday, February 25th. You can also download the 3 booster packs titled Operation:Broken Mirror, Omega Dawn and Operation: Fallen Star for $4.99 each or as a bundle for $9.99. This game is pretty cool. I picked it up for about $20 on sale a few months ago and tried my hand at it but I was no match for all the Warhawk Veterans that were still playing the game. This is actually a very good price since you can buy the whole game and all the add ons for around $25. This should also boost the community and the amount of players who still play this game til this day. Check back for the PSN store update later today and give Warhawk a run if you haven't already tried it.

Oh yeah, they also make mention of some changes the development company, Lightbox Interactive, have made over the past few years and they hint at a new game they are working on. Is it going to be the rumored Starhawk? I guess we will find out soon.

MAG v1.03 Update Coming February 26th

E-mail Print PDF

MAG

On Friday, February 26, 2010 MAG will receive its third update since its release. This update is primarily for adjustments to the balance of the factions/gameplay and the weapons. I'm not sure how much the update will affect the gameplay in regards to the faction balancing, namely in regard to SVER, but hopefully the weapon balancing changes don't hurt the gameplay either. Naughty Dog has already upset many gamers who disliked the substantial changes that were made to Uncharted 2's multiplayer. There are also some other small changes in regards to graphics and some technical problems that some users had. Hopefully Zipper doesn't choke with this update. Personally I liked the way the balance was between the factions because it made it more interesting to play. Read more for the full details of the update.

Review: Heavy Rain

E-mail Print PDF

Heavy Rain Review

Quantic Dream’s Indigo Prophecy (released on PS2, Xbox, and PC), known as Fahrenheit almost everywhere else in the world, integrated captivating storytelling with a unique approach towards gameplay by implementing quick-time events. Now while this was not the first title to implement this gameplay approach, it was one of the first to perform it successfully.

Here we are today roughly four and a half years later and Quantic Dream has just pushed out their latest title, Heavy Rain. Quantic Dream has taken the control mechanics from Indigo Prophecy and has revamped the entire system. Instead of implementing a win/lose situation like Indigo Prophecy, they decided to integrate an all new system that could be described as a linked narration. You will encounter countless action scenes where you will have to make a decision in a heartbeat and that one decision could impact how the rest of the game turns out. Read more for the full review.

New Borderlands DLC Available Today

E-mail Print PDF

General Knoxx Borderlands DLC

For all you Borderlands fans out there the new DLC, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, is available today on Xbox Live and tomorrow on the PSN and PC, February 24th and 25th respectively. The price will be 800 MS points and $9.99 on the PSN and PC. This DLC is probably the most robust of all three entries thus far. The General Knoxx DLC offers a level cap increase from 50 to 61, new weapons, new enemies and many new missions. I am going to be waiting for this DLC to be available tomorrow when the PSN store updates, since I have the PS3 version, and hopefully those of you who like this game and still own it will check it out too. If you don't own the game it is at least worth a rent, but the replay value and 4 player co-op mode make it worth every cent of the $60 price tag in my opinion. Give us your thoughts on Borderlands and the previous and upcoming DLC packs in the comment section.

E-mail Print PDF

Darksiders Box Art

THQ has announced that there will be a Darksiders Demo available on XBL on Wednesday February 24th and on the PSN Thursday, February 25th. I almost pulled the trigger and bought the game last weekend, and I have heard good things about it, but I wanted to wait and try this demo out before I bought it. The demo is rumored to last somewhere around 90 minutes, so be prepared to get a good dose of what the game is all about if you decide to download this demo.

Let Us Talk Bioshock 2

E-mail Print PDF

Bioshock 2 Logo

Bioshock 2 has been out for a couple weeks now, so you've hopefully had a chance to play through it. Both Matt and I finished the game last week and decided it was worth doing something together on the game.

Our first idea was the duel review. But there is too much to say about the game to keep the written review from going way too long. Instead, we give you Game Lobby Light. So read more to see a video and/or hear the mp3 of us talking about Bioshock 2. It's basically a review and is filled with spoilers.

So stop watching or listening when I warn you to.
