In recent memory, I can’t recall a new media format taking as much heat from consumers and the press as I have seen with Blu-ray. The press has tagged Blu-ray as an unneeded upgrade to DVD and too expensive.

While there may be some truth to one of those arguments, no one should doubt the superior picture and sound quality the format produces. Sure you can get a DVD player that upscales, but doing that just isn’t up to HD quality let alone 1080p. The bottom line in regards to Blu-ray is that it is the best format for Hi-Definition movies currently available.

It has been an exciting week for all Killzone 2 fans with the recent release of the third DLC map pack, Napalm & Cordite, as well as patch 1.29. For supporting Guerrilla Games back from February and until now, they would like to thank our loyalty by supplying us with an Extra XP Weekend. This weekend from Friday at 17:30 GMT till Monday morning at 09:00, any games created will give extra XP points to let everyone rank up faster and unlock those Badges. The gaming news is starting to pour in from Comic-Con and Halo fans should be rejoicing. Microsoft announced on Thursday the creation of Halo Waypoint and Halo Legends.

Legends will be a series of anime Halo short films. The announcement doesn't give us a number of films. It only says "several". Then there is the Waypoint deal that will house the films and everything else Halo. Yes, please read more.
