New Borderlands DLC with A Level Cap Increase Is On the Way

E-mail Print PDF

Borderlands DLC

Anyone who comes to the site and listens to me run my mouth knows how much I love Borderlands. Well, it has been announced that there will be new DLC called "The Secret Armory of General Knoxx". No date has been set, but the DLC promises new weapons, new enemies and probably the most wanted feature, a hike in the level cap that will be above 50. The amount of increase for the level cap is still undisclosed but I am hoping that they go to 70 or above with this one because I still love this game. Once you get to level 45 or so it takes a lot more time to level up than it does earlier on in the game so I would imagine it would be around 60.

The DLC has not been given a time frame or a date as of yet, but as soon as one is announced I will make sure to post it up. This will be the third round of DLC for Borderlands with the first two being "Zombie Island of Dr. Ned" and "Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot". The new DLC is supposedly the largest one yet so I am definitely going to get this as soon as it comes out. "Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot" is very difficult and I have not put much time into that particular portion of the DLC, but it gave you the ability to have a locker to stash weapons and mods. There is no word on what else the new DLC will include but it already sounds like a winner. This DLC will be available for the PS3, 360 and PC and it should be the same price as the previous DLC, which is $9.99 or 800 MS points.

Nick's Gaming View: PSP and DS Could be Harmed by Apple

E-mail Print PDF

Nick's Gaming View

On Nick's Gaming View Episode #2, I cover this week's latest news and events for the gaming industry. I tell everyone why I feel the PSP and DS could be harmed by Apple. I also introduce Ted Brockwood, Director as well as Owner of Calico Media, to the show where we talk about what goes into running your own gaming company as well as get his impressions on the gaming industry. Lastly, I discuss what really grinds my gears.

I am still experimenting with video rendering settings, so the quality is still not where I want it to be, but I now have a quad core desktop just for rendering. Expect the quality to improve!

Review: MAG

E-mail Print PDF

MAG Review

Sony’s E3 2008 Press Conference was action-packed with the release of Resistance 2 gameplay footage, a teaser of God of War III, and Zipper Interactive’s announcement of MAG, also known as Massive Action Game at the time. At this time, all gamers knew was that the game would be composed of 256-player battles composed of 8-person squads. All that was shown was a computer generated (CG) trailer that captured the attention of many gamers, but was it worth the wait? Read more to find out.

Ubisoft

DRM: as soon as you hear those three letters , you know it's bad news. Well it seems Ubisoft is taking it to a new level. The new DRM will require a constant internet connection to ensure that the user is using a legit copy of the game. The first game to utilize this method will be Settler's 7. GTA Episodes From Liberty City Coming To PS3 March 30th

E-mail Print PDF

Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City Box Art

There has been a rumor that had been floating around for a while, and yesterday that rumor was confirmed. Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City will be coming to the PlayStation 3 on March 30, 2010. These games, or "episodic content" depending on how you look at it, were released in 2009 on the 360. Ever since Microsoft made their infamous exclusive downloadable content deal with Rockstar, many people presumed that both The Last and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony would come to the PS3. Well now any PS3 owner who doesn't own a 360 and wants to play these new GTA "episodic content" will have that opportunity very soon. The "episodic content" will be available in the same flavors they were on the 360, seperate DLC available for purchase from the PSN store or as a retail purchase with both episodes on one disk.

Personally,I am glad that this is finally coming to the PS3 for all those people who haven't been able to play it (for the record I have it on the 360 but don't get to play it that much because I have little "eyes" around) and since I already have the game I can tell you that both "episodic content" are their own games within themselves. They are both set in Liberty City at or around the same time the original GTAIV saga was unfolding, but the stories revolve around different people and different areas of Liberty City. PS3 owners should be broke all year with all the exclusive games and surprises like GTA: ELC, White Knight Chronicles and Yakuza 3 coming out. I wonder if Square Enix will bless the PS3 with any of those RPGS that came out on 360 over the past year?
